If you’re looking for a stunning, historic golf course that offers as much visual appeal as it does a challenge to your game, you’ve certainly come to the right place! At Golf Sleepy Hollow, we’re proud of our 100 year history here in Jefferson County and proud of our friendly support staff as well.
Golf Sleepy Hollow is one of the oldest golf courses in the state, boasting grounds that are over a century old. Our course began as private property in the esteemed Wright family, who then sold off a portion of their family’s farmland to Bell and Castle, two local developers. Appreciating the stunning layout of the land and being avid golfers themselves, Bell and Castle knew the land was just waiting to become the course it is today!
While the land itself offered an amazing layout and lots of natural hazards, Bell and Castle employed a nearby design firm to create an even more desirable layout, including the many sand traps and hardscaping features dotting our 18 holes. The country club was also designed to sit on a slight hill along the southern border, allowing for the best views and access to players and those taking advantage of our great indoor space.
If you need a lush and tranquil setting for your upcoming wedding or other special event, check out our gorgeous country club! We offer two full dining rooms with seating for 100 and 150 respectively, with a fully folding wall between for larger crowds.
While we don’t allow outside catering for dining, our staff is happy to work with your baker to ensure timely delivery of your wedding cake and other specialty items as needed. Our staff is also available to answer any questions you have about decorations and our full menu and bar items, including champagne toast and take-home boxes.

Golf Sleepy Hollow has grown over the years to become one of the area’s most sought-after courses and country clubs, and our team of staff members have been instrumental in making that happen! We’re also happy to help if you have questions about the course or need assistance with event planning and our country club rental arrangement.
Jane Mitchell is our staff coordinator, overseeing all activities in the club and course. Ms. Mitchell came to us with over two decades of experience in event planning and executive management, and offers a stellar track record in ensuring the comfort and convenience of all our players and guests.
Jonathan Butler is our event coordinator, offering a decade of experience in event planning. Mr. Butler has coordinated many Jefferson County events including weddings with over 500 guests! Whatever your needs for your special occasion, Mr. Butler is sure to make your dream come true.
Our dining room is overseen by executive chef Rita Thompson, a culinary master specializing in event menus and special occasions. Ms. Thompson takes pride in offering classic dishes that are sure to please a crowd as well as staying on top of the latest trends in dining and entertaining.
Pro specialist Nelson Carter is here to assist any player needing some personalized instruction for their game! Mr. Carter began golfing at an early age and is well-known among the West Virginia amateur golf circuits.
